Apple Mac Pro (RED) One of One Designed By Jony Ive and Marc Newson

In a month’s time, the (RED) auction will go live at Sotheby’s in New York, where pieces that represent the best of design and innovation will be sold all to benefit The Global Fund to combat the spread of AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. We already brought you an extensive look at many of the products already on queue for bid, all of which have been curated by renowned designer Sir Jonathan Ive of Apple fame and Marc Newson, but this one-of-a-kind Mac Pro featuring the radical cylindrical design with a shiny red finish is looking to steal the show. Color-matched to fit the other Product items, this special edition Mac Pro is listed at an expected bid price of $40,000 to $60,000 when the auction begins on November 23. The rest of worldwide consumers, however, will have to wait until December for the official launch of the Mac Pro with an expected price of $2,999. The entry-level version includes a 3.7 Ghz quad-core Intel Xeon E5 processor, dual AMD FirePro D300 GPUs, 12 GB of memory, and 256 GB of PCIe-based flash storage while the higher-end, 3.5 Ghz 6-core version with 16 GB of memory will starts at $3,999. You can also customize options to include an 8-core or 12-core Xeon E5 processors, AMD FirePro D700 GPUs, up to 64 GB of memory and up to 1 TB of flash storage.

The auction will take place at Sotheby’s location in New York City on Saturday, November 23rd.
