Dr. Dre Confirms $3.2 Billion Purchase By Apple, Becoming Hip-Hop’s First Billionaire

In the hours since multiple media outlets reported the possible purchase of Beats Electronic by Apple last night, hip-hop mogul and Beats’ co-founder Dr. Dre was already celebrating the $3.2 billion acquisition in his studio. Filmed by actor Tyrese Gibson in a self-congratulating style much like a hip-hop music video, Dre confirms the deal in an expletives-filled rant. Tyrese chimed in as well with “The first billionaire in hip-hop, right here from the motherfuckin West Coast, believe me!”, thus further fueling the East Coast-West Coast rivalry between the two hip-hop fractions. Already worth $550 million and ranked just below Diddy in the latest Hip-Hop’s Wealthiest List compiled by Forbes, Dre will likely top the chart now by becoming hip-hop’s first billionaire.

While Tyrese promptly deleted the video from his Facebook page, you see the video in full entirety on various YouTube accounts.
