MINI Paceman GoalCooper – Featuring Soccer Pitch and Auto Tailgate Goalkeeper
Jogo Bonito! Ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, automaker MINI is going to take part in the preparation with its newest concept, the MINI Paceman GoalCooper. Created by MINI Design Team and headed by diehard soccer fan Oliviero Weilinho, the MINI Paceman GoalCooper is a fully customized MINI John Cooper Works Paceman. Featuring the unmistakeable green, blue and yellow colors of the Brazilian flag as its exterior paintwork, the vehicle comes with AstroTurf floor mats in Brasileiro Green and LED interior floodlights to replicate the feel of an actual soccer stadium. Comfortably seats four fans, who can view live Internet stream of the game through their smartphones and Apple iPad, there is even a mini foosball table on the Center Rail for them to pass time during commercial breaks.
However, if they need to sharpen their skills ahead of an important game, they can roll the rear seats down and convert the car’s trunk into an actual soccer goal. Lined with more AstroTurf and quipped with a goal net, the Park Distance Control (PDC) sensor actually doubles as a high-tech goal keeper, ready to close the hatch whenever the ball flies by. If a player is lucky enough and put one into the net, the special MINI Connected App on the MINI Paceman GoalCooper will automatically register the score online, where he or she can compare stats with others for the title of MINI Community World Champion.
Unfortunately like the 2012 MINI Cooper Yachtsman, the MINI Paceman GoalCooper is just a well thought out April Fools’ prank from the car maker.
