Danner x Ball and Buck Boot | Behind the Scenes Video

“My grandfather wore , my dad wore them, and I have been wearing my Danners for as long as I can remember. The quality is unmatched. I am proud to inject the ethos to such an iconic brand” – , Founder of Ball and Buck
Established on the basis of a “sporting gentleman,” retailer Ball and Buck pride itself of being a “bit out of the ordinary” among its contemporaries. More like a hunting lounge than a clothing store on Boston’s trendy Newbury Street, the store first came to everyone’s attention last year when it release the prized Ball and Buck x New Balance US574. This week, it is continuing that tradition with the Danner x Ball and Buck Boot.
A collaboration which resonated with Ball and Buck’s founder Mark Bollman, the boot is based on Danner Light, one of its most iconic model since the brand’s establishment in 1932. Made from waxed and oiled leather, the boot allows moisture and just enough heat to escape while keep out all of the elements, a design that actually functions better than Gore-Tex in some cases. Ball and Buck then added its signature camouflage in the form of a 10oz canvas to the boot’s side panels and blaze orange stitching. Etched branding, antique brass hardware, Vibram‘s Gumlite outsole, and a layer of Gore-Tex lamination help to better its functions on the hunting grounds across Massachusetts or the streets of Boston.
Completely handcrafted by artisans over at Danner’s factory in Portland, Oregon, the Danner x Ball and Buck Boot retails for $376 USD and is available now at its flagship store on Newbury Street. Meanwhile, see the step-by-step production process in the behind-the-scenes video after the jump.
