SUPREME X VANS – “BRUCE LEE” FOOTWEAR COLLECTION
With a given screen name Li Xiaolong, or Li “Little Dragon,” it was obvious that Bruce Lee would be onto bigger things later in life. A polymath who wore many hats, Lee acted as the original Kato in the TV adaptation of The Green Hornet and five feature length films. Off screen, Lee helped to usher in the modern era of martial arts with his very own Jeet Kune Do style, a hybrid fight technique that prioritized impact and efficiency regardless of philosophies. In many ways, it was the forerunner to today’s mixed martial arts.
In part to commemorate the 40th anniversary of his untimely death but more importantly, his lasting legacy in acting, martial arts, and the lives of Chinese-Americans, Supreme created a limited capsule collection in Lee’s honor, including a set of VANS Authentic and VANS Sk8-Hi. Fashioned out of either all-canvas or canvas/suede, each of the styles comes with three different colorways in black/white, yellow, and blue. All to feature a duplicated print of Lee’s most famous fighting pose.
To be available with the rest of the Supreme x Bruce Lee Collection, including coach jacket, button-down shirts, and graphic tees, the Supreme x VANS – Bruce Lee Footwear Collection will be launch this Thursday, October 24th, at Supreme’s flagship stores in New York, Los Angeles, London and its online shop.
