Why We Dig: We love it when art and fashion collide. And for his first cruise collection at Christian Dior, creative director Raf Simons clearly took cues from the paintings of early 20th-century Dutch abstract painter Piet Mondrian and the subsequent, famed Mondrian-inspired primary color-blocked shift dresses done by Yves Saint Laurent in 1965. This gown resembles a modern work of art with bold geometry, an ethereal silhouette and movement-heavy fabric that adds a nice feminine juxtaposition. In short, we think this is a way cool update on YSL's iconic '60s look. Not to mention that Cotillard's nude lips and head-turning up 'do are simply killer.
